“My mentor Ir Chen Kin Wah is very approachable and friendly. He is highly professional in his field of work and skilled in his areas of interest, such as photography. My mentor is very eager to share his experiences, knowledge as well as his interests whenever we talk on the phone or at meet-ups. Through this, I have gained some insights into fields that are outside the scope of my studies, hence helping me to keep up with my general knowledge.
Having a kind and generous mentor, who is always willing to assist his mentee in terms of studies and work, is a privilege. Knowing he has a mentee, Eva, who is pursuing the same degree as I am, he introduced me to her to ensure I can benefit more from the mentorship. I am very lucky to have made the acquaintance of Eva. Her being my senior at the University has given me some background knowledge and tips in the pursuit of my studies. I am able to receive advice from her regarding course selection, exchange programmes, as well as job applications for the future.
Speaking of careers in Hong Kong, Ir Chen spoke of the current issues and trends for the future. I was very inspired by his understanding of the world, how it works and the vitality to always be ready to tackle the situation presented before you. It was definitely an eye-opening moment for me and I became keener to discover what this mentorship relationship has to offer.
