“Romeo’s experiences living in Canada encourage me to explore overseas opportunities. He gave me the chance to understand the lives of Hong Kong immigrants in Canada. With mentor’s help, I enjoyed some very local experiences during my exchange, such as going on a road trip and attending major sports events in Toronto. Romeo is willing to make sure mentees got the best exchange experience; for example, after learning I am a sports fan he took me to a baseball game. He is willing to listen to me sharing my thoughts. Romeo is so nice and helpful, and I wish more mentees could benefit from him,” said mentee Anthony Fan.
Howard Chu mentioned that, “Romeo is very warm and helpful. He not only invited me to alumni gatherings and an NBA game, he also drove me all the way back to Kingston, which is a 6-hour round trip drive. The way he contributes to his alma mater through helping new generations of HKU students really touches me deeply. His sharing of his weekly commitment to badminton practice and his volunteering with cancer patients also showed me how to maintain a fulfilling life after retirement.”
