Immersed in different culture

“It was a great experience that was totally out of my expectations. I was invited to Sally’s house to spend a weekend with her and other mentees. We visited Stirling castle, spent time reading in her cosy library, chatted with her family and harvested from her garden. It was the first time I had ever spent time in a Scottish house, and experienced a brand new culture while listening to my mentor’s life stories. Sally is such a kind and loving mentor, who reminded me of my dearest grandmother. When I was packing for departure, she wrote me friendly tips about Scotland and things I might need. When I was at her home, she hosted us, guided us around and generously shared thoughts and information on whatever we were curious about. It was definitely unforgettable and rewarding for me, and I am really grateful to Sally!” Dong Hanzhen (BBA(Acc&Fin)) “Professor Sally Stewart is very nice and talkative. I learnt more about the Scottish culture and the history of her big family.” Ken Lai (BSc)
