Dr Felix Yip Wai Kwong, mentor since 1998, had dinner gathering lately with his mentees of different years.          

The HKU Alumni Association of Boston-New England held its Fall dinner on September 16, 2017 at the Jumbo Seafood Restaurant, Newton, Massachusetts. It was well attended by 16 exchange students and mentees, and 29 alumni and their families.

“My mentor Doris is a good listener; she is very friendly, supportive and considerate. She is always willing to listen to my stories and worries, and helped me to analyse the situations.

“Jennifer is very friendly and nice. She always encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and go for my dreams. She is willing to share with me her life insights.

“My mentor has a broad range of interests, which makes him a well-rounded, well-minded person. I was able to talk to him about different subjects and topics that interest us both, such as politics, philosophy, arts, career opportunities and my anxieties, and received advice from him.”

In August 2017, mentee Tony Lau Hon Yiu (BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB 2017) revisited his mentor Professor Sally Stewart at Crieff, Scotland and presented her with an HKU scarf.
