“I had a group gathering with my mentor Sharon and another mentor-mentee pair, and it was really inspiring. The mentors shared a lot about their experience as clinical psychologists or counsellors, which inspired me a lot.

HKU mentor Olivia Cheng once again this year invited her mentees to her pottery workshop (容雅窰). On a day immersed in nature and sunshine, mentees were thrilled to enjoy this creative yet relaxing process, and experiencing the joy of hand-building and crafting pottery from clay.

“Dr Peter Poon drove all the way to my residential hall to pick me up. He showed me around Beverly Hills and treated me to a meal of amazing Greek cuisine. I really enjoyed our conversation and he is such a wonderful mentor to have.”

What could be better than exploring heritage and culture with a local when you are overseas?

“Cedric is a great listener and he understands my aptitude well. He also gives great advice and is a genuine guide. I received guidance from not only my mentor but also his mentees from previous years.

“My mentor Mr Vincent Tang is humorous and very willing to share his experiences with mentees. Mr Tang told me about his working experiences and how he studied law back in his university days.
